Amalendu Jyotishi will trace the hidden journey of fish in our food systems from small, nutrient-rich local catches to the global shrimp trade that consumes them. He will unpack ecological, nutritional and value chain impacts, challenge myths, highlight community dependencies and inspire choices for sustainable, affordable and healthier seafood for people and the planet.

Amalendu is a Professor at the School of Development, Azim Premji University. He specialises in research and consulting in Fish for food and nutrition security, Commons, Environment and Natural Resource Management, Legal Pluralism, Subsistence Economy and Sustainability
