Be foodwize series | Re-thinking Hunger | 31st January, 2026
This webinar explores the invisible realities of hunger in urban India. Through a conversation with development economist Dipa Sinha, we unpack how food insecurity is shaped not only by poverty, but by policy, rights and everyday political choices. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of ‘silent hunger’ and urban vulnerability.
Dipa Sinha is a development economist and an Associate Professor at the Centre for Study of Indian Economy, Azim Premji University. With two decades of work in food rights, public health and nutrition, she has contributed to national and global policy, including @ UN FAO’s Nutrition and Food Systems report. She writes widely and is active in the Right to Food Campaign.
