About us

We are a team of highly experienced professionals with diverse backgrounds and capabilities and significant work experiences in India and abroad. We are bound by our shared vision for the future of food and hence, the future of our world. We have extensive depth in food systems and food cultures, transformation, leadership, strategy and development, experience design and media and communications. We work with a network of diverse collaborators. 


We are bringing this collective experience together, to strengthen food producing communities, enhance access to good food and preserve our food cultures. 

Our Team

Priya Joshi

Co-Founder


Priya is a leader with more than twenty years across industries and deep experiences in organisation strategy, transformation and capacity development.  She understands diverse food cultures, contemporary food systems and their impact on social and economic issues. Priya is an engineer and an alumna of the University of Gastronomic Sciences, Italy.

Srijata Sengupta

Co-Founder


Srijata is an expert in transformation, strategy and development. She has spent twenty five years building and growing strong organisations. She is accomplished at bringing innovation in experiences and systems. Srijata is passionate about the development of people and communities. She is an advocate for equality and responsible business.

Chaitali Chaudhari

Experience Design Specialist


Chaitali Chaudhari, a Schumacher College MA graduate in Ecological Design Thinking, blends holistic design with embodied ecological practices. With extensive experience in natural building, permaculture and regenerative land-based work, she supports foodwize's vision by crafting transformative experiences for food and education.


Vishal Goutam

Community Engagement Analyst 

Vishal is a  development practitioner, with a MA in Development from Azim Premji University. He believes in the power of people and community in building transformation. He has been engaged in youth led advocacy around the issues of climate, education and human/child rights. Vishal is passionate in creating safe, youth-led spaces.

Priya Bala

Advisor and Collaborator

Priya is a journalist, writer, chef and curator. She is a respected and renowned food critic in Bengaluru. She is also the author of several best selling food guides and books. Priya runs Yo Colombo, an authentic and sustainable Sri Lankan cloud restaurant. She cares deeply about quality, taste, provenance and responsible practices in the food and beverage industry. 

Dr Megha

Advisor and Collaborator

Dr Megha is an Associate Professor, Centre For Ayurveda Biology and Holistic Nutrition at TDU. She has a Phd in Biochemistry and Structural Biology from Stony Brook University, New York. Dr Megha's areas of expertise include public health communications, early life malnutrition, Ayurveda dietetics, nutrition science. She is passionate about educating people on how to make better decisions about food.


Paul D Souza

Advisor 

Paul D Souza is an inventor and founder of ToucheTech Labs a social enterprise willing to consider any product development and design challenge. He has 8 patents to his name and many more in process. Paul is passionate about exploring what it takes to be an inventor and mindsets needed for to create new inventions. Contrary to the popular saying, Paul believes that "invention is the mother of all necessity.


Barny Haughton,MBE

Advisor 

Barny is a chef and food educator who believes that food education should play a central role in health and education policy both at local and national government level. Barny opened his first organic restaurant Rocinantes in Bristol in 1988 and went on to run two others.  Barny founded Square Food Foundation in 2011, a community cookery school. He received  a MBE for feeding thousands for free during the pandemic.
